Obviously not an OT baller like all of you but I drive around 100 miles round trip for work everyday and not being an OT baller, I didn't want to rack up a lot of commuter miles on my truck plus I live in the Midwest so salty roads.

I recently purchased this 1997 Toyota Camry from a friend of a friend for $2500, 117k original miles, nothing wrong with it except the washer fluid reservoir leaks. Plan to just drive it back and forth to work, are these cars worthy of their reputation for being "bulletproof?"

I have a 2000 Camry but don’t drive it much anymore. I’ve had it since 2006 and never had an issue with it.

I rolled 265K in a 98 Camry. Bought it new. Sold it in running condition. When I would change the oil at 3000 miles, it was still translucent.

Same.

My truck is a 2008 Chevy Z71 crew cab LT (with leather) that I paid cash for at $9k with 125k miles but its basically like new so want to take care of it.

I'm 27 and single and just bought a house so trying to stay out of as much debt as possible

I’ve seen better looking 23 year olds in the quad.

Obligatory

For a 23 year old car though, it looks pretty damn good all things considered.

Great cars, does it have the 2.2 4 cylinder or the 3.0 6 cylinder? Either way great car, and frick the OT baller shite, I’m sure many will claim they drive a wraith.

We had a 96 Corolla and a 99 Camry; they went through 2 teenage boys and were still great cars. My mom had a ‘98 Camry and drove it for 20 years. Since the Corolla and Camry, we’ve driven nothing but Toyota.

It is the 2.2 4 cylinder.

Previous owner said they changed the timing belt at 90k.

That’s crazy low mileage for a 97, if it was taken care of at all (which it sounds like it was), that thing will continue to last you and be a great car for years to come. Toyota really does make great vehicles. Though I do think American cars have caught up in recent years.

Yep. I always buy outright and drive until the wheels fall off.

Up there with the Nokia 3310 for ultimate reliability and durability. Great car.

I had the two models before that and both were tanks. One I traded in with 190k miles the other 175k miles.
