Brother lives down the street and my niece is a lifeguard there.
It's a 1-day thing IMO. Don't make it the "destination". Plan to do other stuff like Fredricksburg, float the Comal river, San Antonio Sea World, Lockhart for BBQ, etc..
FYI don't plan on floating the Guadalupe.. the whole state is bone dry. The comal is spring fed so o.k. for now.

Last time I went to blue bayou as a kid there was a piece of shite floating in the wave pool. I shite you not. (No pun intended).
