Not to mention, if he made a "couple batches of them from 1 oz of butter", everybody ate a bunch of placebo cookies. Your average recipe calls for two sticks (1/2 lb) worth.

Idk, but a friend I grew up with is head of HR at Green Lion Farms in Seattle. They grow & have recipes for everything under the sun. Their apple butter recipe is awesome!!! I can ask her.

One time my son and a college buddy hung out at my place for a few days of fishing while I was out of town. When I returned, I smelled weed.
"Son, did you smoke weed in here?"
"No dad, we only smoked cigarettes on the balcony."
I went up to change clothes and smelled it again when I came down. "Are you sure you didn't smoke weed, because I know weed that smells like and it's strong."
"Oh, that. That's canni-butter. We made canni-butter pasta for lunch and left the dishes in the sink."
He was not dumb enough to pay $100 for that, it was about $10 of weed and they used my butter!
I made them clean that up, quick.

actually a high dose of sativa will give you couch lock too.
To OP, do it. That is a good deal if you ask me, obviously you don't know how strong the butter really is but even if he only used 1/4 oz its still reasonably priced.
i personally use 1oz trim / 1 lb of butter and it makes approximately 200 medium dose edibles.

I do 10 grams of flower and 5 grams of ABV per 1/2 lb.

I have a jar of some avb that I have been saving. I want to make some butter or oil with it but I'm scared it's gonna have that burnt taste.

That's why I use one part ABV, two parts flower. I haven't detected that burnt taste this way.
