That may be. I'll tell that to the next clerk I deal with who insists that they only accept faxed documents and see how it flies.

Admittedly, I deal in primarily real estate but the days of having someone physically sign contracts are quickly going away with services like DotLoop, Authentisign and Verisign. I mark up the contract, add them as approved signers, send it to them, and they sign using a PIN.

Even HUD, Fannie and Freddie take e-signatures now, and they were the last holdouts.

State and local government offices may be the last holdouts. No surprise there.
