Anyone ever have FedEx say they couldn't deliver a package b/c you weren't home?

Package was supposed to be delivered today by 8. I see the truck outside my window around 3 and wait for a knock at the door. No knock. I see the truck drive away. I thought that the driver put the package in my mailbox on the side of the house. Nothing. I check online, and the delivery status says "delivery exception. nobody home or business closed."

Sig required or contents need to be received by an adult. Was your package wine or liquor?

As others said, it was something you had to sign for. However, the no-knock is something I've experienced from FedEx as well. It's bullshite. In fact, I'm fairly certain the truck didn't even stop, just passed by and assumed no one was home because it's a weekday, because there was no door tag. I happen to work from home. I would've heard the driver the minute he stepped foot on my porch. FedEx simply doesn't give a shite about home deliveries, though.

I do a ton of online shopping and Fedex here in Lafayette is the absolute worst.. has been the worst since I have been here.

They are the only company that are consistently late with deliveries.

They are also extremely lazy. One time they tried to say they attempted a delivery, however no tag was left and I was home ALL day looking for the package.. it was an important package.. and I kept calling that day and they kept saying give it till 8 pm.. they never showed and next day tried to say driver attempted but no one was home.. lol! I know for a fact this wasn't true as I was home all day looking for them and they had no proof.

That's just one incident.. There's so many more like that.. one time a driver for them just said he could have made the delivery but didn't feel like making it in time.

Just yesterday my mom was suppose to receive an item delivered by fedex and her friend from work who had ordered it the same thing at the same time received it yesterday.. but of course we didn't.. we always get it later.. well fortunately we received the item today.. as always.. a day late.. but usually it's like 3 days late with fedex.

I've had to file so many complaints of them lying with the same excuse

Were you home all day? We have several different trucks come through our very small neighborhood during the course of a day. I don't know why they send different trucks to one location but the truck you saw may not have had the package. Normally though, the delivery exception occurs when a signature is required --- although they usually leave a door tag on your front door as well when this happens.

Fedex has used this with me on no signature required stuff..

never once was a signature required and after i complained and received the item.. no signature or person was even needed.. they just left the item the next day..

it's just a BS excuse they use to further delay shipping.. they are a terrible company.. USPS and UPS are far superior in delivering on time when it comes to my area..

one time fedex driver said on the ticket he didn't feel safe leaving the item.. even though no signature was required.. but come to find out.. like i said.. we are ALWAYS home.. no attempt was ever made! plus i only have one neighbor.. there is no reason to not feel safe leaving it..

I try to use UPS as much as I can because they are onetime and they are cheaper. But I also order a lot of wine and have to be home for it however I work from home so it normally works out. But I see the truck I'm heading to the door . Plus UPS if no signature is required will just set it at the door and ring the bell.

I've gotten to the point where I will just have them hold it at the facility and pick it up from there

Once had them say they knocked on my door, they didn't. I like many of you was home that day. No door tag. I called and raised hell. The package was some LSU game tickets that I had over nighted to me and this occurred on a Friday.

I used to work for FedEx & I can assure you there isn't an incentive for delayed shipping. The exception code is used if there are circumstances beyond the drivers control which prohibited delivery. For example, driver rolls up & its raining. The only place to leave the package would get it soaked. Nobody answers the door so they scan it with the exception code. There reason for the exception code: if the package is damaged, the driver pays.

I had FedEx walk in today at 4:30 right as I was closing up shop with a package. Dude was straight hauling arse. I've noticed UPS is a little more precise in their dealings.

You watched him pull up to your house and then drive off? Why didn't you open your door at some point?
