I've had septoplasty/turbinate reduction in one surgery and holy shite did that recovery suck arse.

I had the invasive surgery in 2000 and it worked wonders for about 10 years. Literally didn't take any antihistamines or decongestants in a decade and felt better than I ever have in my life. Then the polyps or whatever it is that causes the problem grew back. Had the next invasive surgery on the advice of a doctor who should've retired during the Clinton administration and I've been worse since then than before the surgery.

My ex-boss had sinus surgery and the next day his colon exploded. He had to have a stoma bag and all that.

My wife had it done last year, one of her sinus cavities was so blocked that the ballon wouldn't fit. She was in a lot of pain.

Just had septoplasty/turbinate reduction/ethmoidectomy/antrostomy done 3 days ago. Recovery isn't that bad. It's uncomfortable being a mouth breather. The pain is tolerable. Splints get taken out in 4 days.
