And I mean in the act of stealing something that belongs to you.

Made a trip to New Orleans Saturday to go to the WWII Museum with some family for my brother-in-law's birthday. Toured the museum and had a great time with some family. We were leaving the museum at around 5:00 to go to Walk On's to get some dinner.

I parked across the street from the museum in one of the lovely paid parking lots of New Orleans. As most of you know, it was extremely cold Saturday, so I cranked my truck with my remote (OT baller) to get the heat going. As I did this, I spotted someone next to my truck, but didn't think too much of it because I parked literally right next to the machine where you pay to park. I have a toolbox on my truck that doesn't lock because it did not come with a key when I bought the truck (my fault for not changing the lock out). Next thing I know, there's a man walking across the parking lot with a tool bag on his shoulder, a box of Armor All products, a ratchet set, and some other tools that I couldn't tell exactly what they were from the distance I was standing. Obviously, I knew all of the stuff he had was taken out of my toolbox. So, I yell at him asking him where he's going with all of my shite? He stops in his tracks and I'm walking his way. As I get by him, he begins to tell me that he found this stuff on the ground next to the truck over there by the machine where you pay. I told him he was full of shite and to give me my shite. After arguing with this guy for a solid minute on where the stuff came from, I just start taking it all out of his hands. He had so much of my stuff out of my toolbox that I had to get my brother-in-law to help me get all of it from this guy.

After getting all of my stuff from this guy he just takes off which I figured he would do. I probably should have called the cops, but I was so pissed that I didn't think about it until he was out of sight. Has anyone else caught someone in act of stealing something you own? And if so, how did you handle the situation?

My pistol was in the console of my truck. Would have been in a bind if he pulled a gun on me.

I just wanted to get my stuff from him. It took a lot not to beat his arse, but I got my stuff and left it at that.

Well, he was an African-American man standing at probably 6'2, weighing in at approximately 170ish. Had beanie on with dark sunglasses (it was cloudy) and a big old school purple LSU jacket. Ya know one of the ones from the mid 90's. We all had one at some point in time.

tracked a guy down using find my iphone. coworker left his phone in the bathroom at our office, a maintenance guy swiped it. we tracked him down to a building across town and drove over. saw a guy leave then the phone started moving on the app, followed that guy to a gas station, he left and the phone moved again so we knew it was him. he stopped at a grocery store next and I confronted him since my co-worker pussed out. pulled a bag out of his trunk with the phone in it, I thought he might be pulling a gun from the bag.

i grew up in a small town where we left doors open and windows down and didn't think much of it. one time my friends and i were all meeting at a restaurant and i got out of the car and started walking towards the entrance when these three tweaker dudes pass me. something was off so i turn around and wait.

my friend pulls in and i ask him to just wait there and keep an eye on me. as i walk back i see one guy in my truck grabbing stuff and just chunking it into the bed of his truck.

i walk up behind him and asked if he needed anything in particular and he runs around to the front of my truck with the door between us and says "nah, man i don't need anything." his friend starts opening the door and i push it back shut, grab the stuff from his trunk, toss it back in my truck, lock the door, and wish them a good day without turning around

beta little bitches. the only time in my life i felt like a badass at something, but i was scared i was going to get shanked the whole time.

That part is my fault. I should have known better. Going today to get a new lock for it.

I would like to think my reaction would have been the same as yours but something tells me that I would have had a hard time not taking advantage of his hands being full.
