This is true for the most part. It takes about 2 hours to get there from Belize City(and 2 hours back). You do the tour which is a good hour or more. Then they take you to a local place for a great Belizean lunch.
If you're into history or the Mayans, it's amazing and worth it.

The city isn't that bad. I spent a couple of weeks there. Great food, but it was quite an adventure. RIP Rauls

Where you diving Blake?
We dove out from Belize city with the cruise line, and it was like Wal-Mart under the water. We had about 30 on the boat, and we kept running into each other. It was a joke.

If you have a chance to do ATM cave then do it. By far the best experience we had there.
However, you are going on a ship so you wont see anything and only have a couple options.
Cave tubing is the usual and the docking place for the cruise ships seemed like a decent place to get shitty.
Im not sure, but the blue hole and any real diving probably isnt going to be an option because of where yall are at.
