I was there last spring and stayed here. It was a sales trip I won so had no choice on where to stay. Would I go back, yes. Would I stay at the Riu no. Riu owns two properties the Palace Antillas and the Palace Aruba. The Palace Aruba was under renovations when we were there so you heard jackhammers all day. The wind blows all the time and those two builds make a funnel to the beach which increases the wind speed which in turns makes little sand tornadoes on the beach and you get sandblasted all day. Other than that the island is fun.

For someone who has never been anywhere in the Caribbean, it would be pretty cool. For someone who has been to the Caribbean a lot to various islands, it is not a sought out destination to revisit.

Just on a cruise, hit the ABC islands. "B" (bonaire) was actually our favorite. Would like to take a trip back. World class scuba if you're into that kinda thing.

Aruba from what i recall was pretty undeveloped. Old abanoned refinery kinda ruined our view at baby beach but the water was spectacular.

I don't know how to tell you without sounding like a snob but it was kinda trashy.
