How does it compare to a Carnival or Royal Carribean cruise?

Nicest and the least amount of kids of all the big cruise lines.

My mom is on this Royal Caribbean ship now and says it is amazing! LINK It looks pretty awesome.

Not as trashy as the other cruise lines you mentioned.
More catered to adults and couples. Hardly any kids on the cruise I took with Celebrity. No water slides or any of that shite. Just good restaurants, shopping, entertainment and a casino. Lots of cool art and design on they newer ships. (I recommends the Celebrity Silhouette)

Celebrity is mid range, much nicer than carnival. Probably about the same or little better than Royal, but not focused on family/kids like Royal, so it seems a lot nicer if you don't have or want to be around kids. It is focused more on the 30s - 50s age range. Less of a party boat, more of an mid age adult couples boat.
When my wife makes me go on a cruise, it's probably my first choice.

Celebrity is about 8 levels above Carnival and probably about 3 levels above RCCL. Have taken two Celebrity cruises and enjoyed both of them. Like a previous poster mentioned, not all the waterslides and rock climbing BS. Not many children on the cruise either (again depends on time of the cruise).
You can do some reading on the Celebrity cruise line forum and can probably find a roll call for the cruise you are thinking about at:

I've taken 3 with Celebrity, 1 with Norwegian, 1 with Carnival. Celebrity is much better than Carnival, better than Norwegian. Very few kids (includes through college age). Also not a lot of very old people. Good food, itineraries, ships for the 3 cruises on Celebrity. I'd recommend them pretty highly.

Best cruise I've ever taken was with Celebrity. The ship was only about 6 weeks in service at the time and everything was immaculate and spot on. Best food on a cruise line by far, and the entertainment was top notches. Like everyone else on here has said, not nearly so many kids or teenager. I have been on Carnival as well, and I wouldn't hit a dog in the but for that experience again. It seemed cheap and like a novelty compared to Celebrity. Royal Caribbean bought Celebrity a while back, but kept it as a more upscale choice for passengers, not as mainstream as RCCL.
