I had mine removed last year. Thyroid cancer at 42. But I'm stable on the meds.

Diagnosed with Hashimotos at 15 and have had an under active thyroid since then. Been about 20 years of Synthroid.

Thyroid ultrasound tomorrow am. Been having some issues swallowing and doc feels a nodule. Blood test pending, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m hyperthyroid. I can’t sleep and run like my hairs on fire all the time. Of course I’ve got a shite ton of anxiety right now due to dad (frick cancer), so maybe I’m not dealing with hyperthyroidism.

My wife came down with hyperthyroidism several years ago and she dropped a lot of weight real quick and had a crazy elevated heart rate. She just thought it was due to stress but one night while lying next to her I put my arms across her and felt her heart racing at 100 beats per minute after I timed it-----and she had been lying down for at least an hour.

She saw a Dr. of internal medicine and had tests run and they diagnosed hyperthyroidism and it took the better part of a year to get her meds straightened out. She also had to either have surgery or have her thyroid irradiated to technically stop it.

She's fine now, but it was scary for her for a while.

Been on various thyroid meds for probably 10 years now. Currently on Armour. It does nothing for me.

Started noticing extreme exhaustion and lethargy in 2016. After about 6 months with no improvement finally went to the doctor and found out my thyroid sucks. I think my TSH was at a -9. It's not totally peaced out but I am on Levothyroxine. I'm up to 250mcg daily now. Diagnosed with Hashimotos just this year. I feel fine now. Metabolism is still a little slow but I manage my weight and weight loss ok.

Getting half of mine taken out in a few weeks. Have a nodule that the biopsies have come back a little funky on.

For those on Syntharoid how is that going?

It's very common. I've been on meds for 25 years.

I developed hyperthyroidism and Graves disease at the age of 26. They completely cut out my thyroid because it swole so bad I couldn't even swallow my spit. Been on meds since then and I'm 46

Mine was 150bpm before my surgery. Doctors said it most definitely caused irreparable damage to my heart.
