As a nurse you tend to work with mostly other women. We have a few male nurses but they never get pulled into work drama. Male nurses have it made because all the female nurses are usually super nice to them because they will use them to help lift heavy patients, etc. They can just sit back and watch the drama unfold but not have to be pulled into it.

You are so right. I was just going to say something similar to this. As a teacher and librarian, I have worked in jobs where women were the majority and males were few. Those few males had it made because everyone appreciated them. They were outnumbered and we knew it and we very much appreciated having them in our midst (especially the male teachers).

They had a special status with us and loved that we often brought sweets to work, homemade goodies and were always willing to help them (just as they would help us when we need some male expertise or viewpoint).

I guess it just depends on the dynamics of the workplace. I have always been part of a pretty cohesive team that worked well together and appreciated all of the differences in everyone because everyone brought diverse skills or viewpoints to the team. There was little drama or nagging but there was a great sense of humor that was always in play among us.

Having worked hospitals for most of my career since 1978, I can attest that hospital cultures are animals unto themselves. They are practically a second family and about as intimate as one. You do what or whoever you like, but just don't try to deny it when it comes back on the grapevine. Wild thing those grapevines.
