I get your point, but there are few industries, if any, where people actively celebrate their demise.

Perhaps attorneys and banking, but that is about it. I just don't get the desire some people have to gloat about the downturn in oil.

He could go back to LSU for nothing. If he was management any type in the oil industry, that can help him get a possible management job in a plant. Take any type of entry level job someone with a forestry degree with no experience would go to

I don't see gloating, I see happiness that people can actually fill their tank for a reasonable amount. It benefits millions

I don't get why you would broadcast that on social media. It's only going to go one of two ways.

I'd rather see NO ONE lose a job. But know the risks you take when u pick a career path and don't be pissed at me because I'm happy with the price of gas. It's not my fault!

Then why not say something like "I'm stoked that gas is so cheap!" and leave it at that? The bitching I've seen has been when someone inevitably comments that it isn't great for a lot of people in this area, and the OP comes back with some snark comment about that not being their problem - much like you're post.

You can simultaneously enjoy the savings at the pump and sympathize with those who are going to feel the effects of this for a long time.

The economy is better when you're spending $3.78 a gallon.

Seem to be one hell of a lot more people like you bitching or dancing with glee at others misfortune.

They are losing jobs by the 10,000s. You simply have to click away. You appear to suck at life one helluva a lot more than anyone nervous about their REAL life.

Why is it reasonable now but it was unreasonable at $3.50?

Isn't that how supply and demand works? If millions of people didn't think it was reasonable the price would have come down.

Debatable. I've gone over this many times in these threads, so I'll be brief, but if oil gets much worse it will have been the result of slowing global growth and that is good for no one. I'm not saying low oil will destroy the globe - that is preposterous - but the recent dive in oil prices has coincided with a significant valuation to ALL industries since the 1st of the year. Every time you wake up to see lower oil prices for the foreseeable future, you're going to also see significant declines in your investments as well.

Oil isn't causing it, but the lower oil gets the worse we will all be.

I agree it's not so black and white, but I wonder how many of those laid off are not finding jobs because they don't want to apply to what's beneath them. If you need money, there is no shame in being a manager at a fast food restaurant or waiting tables or laying concrete, and so on.

That is hilarious. I'm sure oil guys are just so happy they are providing me with gas - they aren't doing it for the money.
