Exactly. I think the signs are there to make people aware or battle indifference with the issue.

Then how about a sign that actually accomplishes that?

Maybe "did you know: every year hundreds of thousands of children are used as sex slaves. Even in BR.
SOMETIMES SLAVERY IS CLOSER THAN YOU THINK."

That might make someone think.

Telling people that something generally reviled by the general public "is not okay" almost trivializes the issue.

I mean, it's "not okay" to do 10 mph above the speed limit on the interstate, but I did that this morning.

It's "not okay" to watch an LSU game on a non-affiliated streaming site, but I damn sure watched JustinTV.

Molehill, man.

The sign did it's job. Go feel insulted at something else.

Who in the world thinks these ridiculous signs are a good use of money?

Bobby Jingles. That's his latest cause célèbre to deflect attention away from his theft of half a billion dollars from the state employees insurance plan.

It's funny, the first time I saw it my wife and I were in the middle of the age-old "Human trafficking is awesome- No it's not" debate. Then we pass this billboard and we were like "oh shite, I guess that settles it".

Raising awareness bro. Awareness is awesome, it has all the convenience of doing nothing but the sanctimony of actual participation in helping solve an issue. Wanna buy a pink ribbon?

i'm still curious what winning the "battle of indifference" will do

oh shite, people know about it now. so what?

it's not like your normal person is going to go all punisher and take out some child pimps

and a normal person isn't buying children for sex

so...yeah. great. they know about it. the battle is over!!!

I'm very against trafficking. All the slaves for my personal sex dungeon are 100% organic and locally sourced with a net carbon footprint of zero.

Because trafficking is NOT OKAY!

See, I have a really hard time buying this line of bullshite, unless the definition of "slavery" they are using is so ambiguous that they can shoehorn whoever they want into it.
