Just rewatched the 1991 JFK film yesterday. I know the film took liberties and dramatized things for the sake of a movie but the overall plot makes me think and I was wondering what people here thought about it, especially since it’s very interlinked with New Orleans.

I just find it weird that the government bugged his offices if they thought what he was doing was meritless. He was on to something.

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

If you dont smell cover up or lack of transparency on what happened then I do not know what to tell you.

I dont know what happened, but to think one crazy dude just rolled up out of the blue and "randomly" did this* then you are a fool.

*Especially with what we now know on how the deep state really works

ETA- On a side note, I went to elementary school with his kids!

Great movie. A very good drama.

A lot of liberties. And lots of dramatization. I've watched documentaries that go into the actual shooting itself, and it's very hard to prove that Oswald was not the lone shooter. Bullet trajectory, placement, etc... all point to Oswald. But, everyone loves a good conspiracy, and will get very angry and quote lines from that movie as proof to the contrary. It's useless arguing with these types.

Did you miss the part about the movie taking liberties?

JFK was assassinated by Oswald, who was a kooky guy that fit the mold of conspiracy theorists' scapegoat model.

People, by nature, don't want to believe such a powerful figure such as the president of the United States can be taken out by such a small, insignificant imbecile.

Oswald had been in trouble in years prior to the shooting for threatening the president. He had mental issues and kept falling through the cracks of law enforcement until the shooting.

The timing of the shooting and Ruby killing him right afterwards were simply convenient for conspiracy theorists.

Imagine for a moment that a terrorist slipped into this country and makes an attempt at the president's life right now - in the midst of the wall argument. That would be incredibly convenient for democrat conspiracy theorists - once more information comes out about the suspect - to say that Trump and the GOP orchestrated it because it fits perfectly into that mold. It seems very plausible.

The same thing happened with Oswald. He acted alone but once his background and other events surrounding the assassination were made public, it sure seemed quite plausible that the CIA, or the mafia, or Cuba, or Russia, or Johnson could have been behind it.

Newsflash: it's very possible for insignificant people to create MAJOR problems. It just takes an instant.

Is that Costner one?

Why not give us a quick breakdown of the plot theory instead of a subtle...I watched an old movie that made me think brag??

Also, does it really matter anymore?? Unless some kind of 100% solid proof comes up out of no where then it's all a theory.

Btw - I would get manicures from a little old lady yrs ago, at an old school barber shop, that gave Jack Ruby his last manicure. She was sweet, and called me handsome every time she would come up to my chair to ask if I wanted my nails done. Got me every time. Ha.

That barbershop was like walking into the pre-50s/60s. It was awesome.

A government conspiracy killed the President and Oswald was just a patsy.

I wouldn't put it past our government to completely fabricate the autopsy details to make it match their story. God only knows what happened that day.

Government conspiracy killed JFK, there were three shooters at Dealey Plaza and Oswald wasn’t one of them. It was a covert coup d’etat like the CIA did in other countries.
