Thinking about going for the day. Never been.

They still have a snack bar and place to rent umbrellas and chairs?

Thanks!

We went last year. The snack bar was pretty terrible, but I guess it depends on how hungry and thirsty you get.

We packed a cooler with drinks and snacks and ate burgers and fries from the snack bar. Imagine food quality of a local HS Football game concession stand with the prices of a Saints game.

Take a cooler with wheels, the walk from the pier to the beach is a trek.

WE go a couple times a year, but take our own boat. No way I'd go on that cattle car !

I went a few weeks ago. there was a storm passing to the south that made the waves great.

the snack bar was alright, nothing special I believe the wife and i ate for like 10 bucks.

it is better than the Biloxi beach but not any better than a Florida or gulf shores trip.

it is nothing that I would want to do every week, but is an interesting thing to do occasionally, just because of the general nature of going to an uninhabited island for the day. bring some sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.

Definitely have a cooler with wheels.

Wade fishing for trout and redfish can be good east of the ferry landing.

Sand is crazy hot.

Gotta get off interstate, wait for the boat, then 70 min boat ride.

For that amount of time just ride to gulf shores for the day.

One of the longest and most wasted day of my life. One the boat ride back you realize what a fool you are.
