Looking at this resort for August. Been all over the Caribbean but only once to Mexico.

This resort has pretty good reviews and was recommended a few years back...

Anyone stayed here?

TIA

I went in 2013 for a wedding there. Stayed 4 days.. It's really one of the best all inclusive resorts I've been to. The rooms and property are outstanding. The food and service was great as well. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Thanks. We went to Cancun once but the place we stayed was not really a typical resort. The Sun Palace. It was clean and had good food and alcohol but not really a beach resort like we had stayed before.

SMB has great reviews, other than than intense time share sales job when you arrive, for the most part. Lots of complaints about the seaweed but everywhere in the caribbean was hit by that last summer. We were in DR.

Yeah it was my first trip to Mexico. We got to go into Cancun for a night for the wedding reception on a cruise around Cancun. I didn't get any time share sales pitch, I'm guessing because i was there in a wedding party group. If you go I seriously doubt you'll be disappointed. I thought it was incredible and hated to leave.

I haven't been to that one yet, but we have friends that have been to about 30 all-inclusive resorts all around the Caribbean.
They say Secrets Maroma Beach is their favorite by far

We booked a week there this upcoming July. After hearing about it from a friend, I did tons of research and everything I've read says its probably the best in Mexico. The tripadvisor reviews are very consistent, and we are looking forward to it. We are going in late July, so please come back and share your experience.

The wife and I have been there three times now. We've tried other all inclusives in MX and we keep coming back to Secrets Maroma Beach. It's by far our favorite. Awesome service, great food, lots to do, impeccable grounds and facilities, it's all top notch. Pending the oil market tanking my job, we're planning on going back in the fall.

My wife and I went to Secrets Capri first and just this November went to Secrets Maroma. We enjoyed Capri, but Maroma is a step up.

We do not go often, but in talking with others at the resort who were frequent resort hoppers, they all seemed to conclude Maroma was the best all-inclusive they had been to.
There will be a little pitch that someone will give you upon arrival about being a part of the club/time share...survive that, and the rest is golden.

Great food, good beach, great staff. Oh and go to all of the shows...no matter how cheesy, we laughed just last night about the ridiculous magician...good memories.

Thanks. That seems to be the story we continue to get. We are planning on booking our trip tonight.

I gotcha, for some reason I read your post and thought you were going in June. Will definitely report back.

We booked a Preferred Club Jr. Suite with Ocean View. After reading the reviews we requested building 26 4th floor. It is on the southern side of the resort and the closest non-oceanfront building to the beach.

Have you looked at the resort on Google Maps? There are no street views but there is a nice 360 degree photo from the beach. Can't wait to get down there.

I looked at it but not to that extent. I think my wife wants a swim up room. I will check the map.......

Thanks

My sister-in-law went there for her 1 year anniversary. She said it was nice. She got married at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya (which is down the road) and said it was better the Secrets. She said the service and food were good but she like the GV more.
