Anybody mess around with quadcopters?

Ive been interested in them lately, but man, they can get expensive. Would like something that I can hook my go pro up to and stream video to a controller or smart phone/tablet, but the ones that are capable of doing that seem to be 600+.

Have two fairly inexpensive ones I fool around with. If you get one don't go out of range, damn things will take off and might not get it back.

I think this is the route I am going to take first. I'd rather not attempt to fly one for the first time with the chance to wreck a $500 piece of technology.

Get you a syma x5c. Comes with HD camera for $80. Rated one of the best you can get for beginners under $100.

Comes with a fully HD camera and the gimbal is flawless. You can view in first person from the controller using your cell phone.

I agree. The kids each got one for Christmas. Amazing technology for the money. This is the unit you should start with. Can do flips and stuff. You can get a multi battery charger and 4 extra batteries for about $20 or so on Amazon.
Well worth the money.

Yep. My neighbor saw me flying it around the yard making my dogs go crazy and went and bought one the next day. I bought one of those chargers and batteries off eBay from some company in Houston, they're everywhere. You definitely need those since each battery give you about 6-7 minutes of fly time
