Good luck. Believe me I know it sucks. My first episode put me in the hospital in Savannah for 3 days. So much for vacation. Then balance physical therapy for 3 months, two different times.
I see a neurotologist in BR. Also take weekly histamine injections.

I think it exists, but also think it's overdiagnosed to an extent. It's unfortunate that it had become a catch all diagnosis for many people.

There are a lot of people who have been diagnosed with menieres , but may in fact have other etiologies such a vestibular migraines.

There's nothing wrong with trying the conservative treatment for menieres (salt restricted diet, diuretics). But if it doesn't work I would make sure you are getting the opinion of a neurotologist(subspecialty of ENT) as opposed to a general ENT before giving up or proceeding forward with any surgical options.

Fasting may help. It is a reset for the body and it sounds like you need one. Godspeed.

We do not claim that fasting cures disease, but simply that it enables the organism to heal itself. What, then, does fasting do?

It gives the vital organs a complete rest.
It stops the intake of foods that decompose in the intestines and further poison the body.
It empties the digestive tract and disposes of putrefactive bacteria.
It gives the organs of elimination an opportunity to catch up with their work and promotes elimination.
It reestablishes normal physiological chemistry and normal secretions.
It promotes the breaking down and absorption of exudates, effusions, deposits, “diseased” tissues, and abnormal growths.
It restores a youthful condition of the cells and tissues and rejuvenates the body.
It permits the conservation and recanalization of energy.
It increases the powers of digestion and assimilation.
It clears and strengthens the mind.
It improves function throughout the body.

Used to date a chick whose dad had it. Sorry to hear about your Dx, because it seems pretty awful. He was slowly losing his hearing and at the point we broke up almost couldn't hear at all out of one ear. Also, salt would make the vertigo unbearable. He had to cut most food and especially restaurants out of his life. Again.. very sorry man

It gives the vital organs a complete rest. as in, they stop doing anything for a while? I think that's bad. Especially organs like lungs, heart, brain, etc...pretty much any organ
It stops the intake of foods that decompose in the intestines and further poison the body. so fasting stops the intake of foods? fascinating
It empties the digestive tract and disposes of putrefactive bacteria. ok, yeah, let's get rid of gut bacteria that are critical to digestive health
It gives the organs of elimination an opportunity to catch up with their work and promotes elimination. your body already has mechanisms that allow the organs to "catch up on stuff"...it's called, full, drunk/hungover, I gotta take a piss, etc
It reestablishes normal physiological chemistry and normal secretions. True, food is awful for your physiological chemistry.
It promotes the breaking down and absorption of exudates, effusions, deposits, “diseased” tissues, and abnormal growths. Yup, because your body wouldn't need any food from energy to do those superhuman things
It restores a youthful condition of the cells and tissues and rejuvenates the body. not receiving food makes cells stronger...interesting.
It permits the conservation and recanalization of energy. I actually agree with this...your body stores fat so it can consume it because some idiot stopped eating
It increases the powers of digestion and assimilation. huh?
It clears and strengthens the mind. As they say, starve your kids, they'll do better in school!
It improves function throughout the body. Fact, your body functions better when it doesn't have anything to break down that it can use to power itself. #fakenews

This guys knows what he is talking about. I second everything he said. It could very well also be labryinthitis (affecting both vestibular & hearing system). Seems to me like it is too early to diagnose as Meneires if it just began Saturday.... sounds like you are still in the acute phase of whatever is going on. If it is not truly Meneires, you could benefit from VRT, a type of therapy offered by very few physical therapists (but the few I know of in/ around NOLA & BR are excellent). If you're hearing loss isn't fluctuating, hearing aids would be very beneficial for the HL (may also be beneficial for a fluctuating loss, although it is much harder to fit)

Just my .02.

Mom had it, she went through a barrage of treatment attempts. Someone suggested that she start taking Niacin (over the counter vitamin). She took this everyday and this became pretty close to a cure for her. It was life changing for her so hopefully she can pay it forward and help you.
