Pop Rouge was able to help a lot of people when he died. I think that is one of the best gifts we can offer it humanity on our way out.

I'm sure there are some legit reasons like certain illnesses that may prevent donation after death.

They can take out everything and throw my husk in the swamp for all I care. I'm not using it anymore.

ETA: I am a donor obviously.

My pop's were also donated upon his death and it gave me and my family some comfort in that shitty time.

I am signed up to be an organ donor for anything that they can transplant...don't want to be a cadaver in a medical school class though.

There is a really simple fix for this.

An organ transplant is usually going to reach 6 figures.

The hospital owes to donor's family 10% of the total bill.

Everyone would be an organ donor.

It's just like blood drives.

Whenever they say there is a blood shortage, just say instead "$100 per pint, $150 for 0- " and there would never be another blood shortage.

Have you ever noticed there's never a blood plasma shortage? It's because people get paid for donating it.

I just have some scepticism about the grey area of being able to save my life and harvesting my organs...like how do they make that decision?

When I first got my license, I wasn't one. The thought weird me out. I now realize how silly that sort of is, and have become one.

An old acquaintance from high school passed away months ago, and her heart was given to someone who needed it. I saw pictures on Facebook of her family/close friends meeting with the heart recipient. Really powerful stuff. There wouldn't be any possible better use of my dead body than giving someone else life

My dad had to have a kidney transplant. He was on the list for over two years. Every so often he would get a call that they have a kidney and he would have to get to the hospital right away to see if he was a match for it. Finally, after 6 or 7 times he finally got one.

I don't understand why people would not become an organ donor. For those who are not, you can actually sign up on your iphone using the health app.

Why? If you are tied to machines that make you be, what kind of life is that? If doctors say they dont know how long Ill be tied to a machine, I want to be unplugged from the wall fast fast. I wont know the difference.

Im an organ donor because when im dead i wont need them.
