I don't really know anything about him other than being at the same occasionall party with his son. I didn't really know him. Seems like he was an E at LSU. But I could be wrong. It was a few years ago.

On the way to playing golf at Howell Park he'd tell me about the time he got "cut in half" by machine guns at the Salvation Army on Airline.
To clarify, your Paw Paw told you this, and not half of Barry Seal?

Naw he was dead the minute he took money from Pablo Escobar and Carlos Lehder to fly cocaine into America.

In the Netflix series Narcos, Barry Seal is featured in season 2 I think.

I used to cut a small airstrip that he landed on in Iberville parish. The owner did time in federal pen.

I was close to the salvation army when he was killed, but didn't know what was going on until later that night. It's stupid the judge ordered him there.

it would be best if I keep quiet

Polozola made a lot of questionable decisions over the years. His being a long time pillhead may have had something to do with it.

I believe Judge Polozola got him killed by sentencing him to a shelter from 10 to 6 every night. The state AG and others appealed the decision to Federal AG Edmond Muskie to no avail.
What always intrigued me was how the US Attorney, Bardwell, was relieved of his job here after Seal was killed and was "reassigned" to a DOJ job in DC until things died down.

I knew another pilot (now dead) from TWA who flew with Seal.
Said he was a good pilot but a little sketchy.
He wasn't surprised at Seal's extracurricular activities.

I knew his brother, Ben Seal. I sold him some Huey helicopter parts that he was running down to the Dominican Republic.

I went to elementary school with Seal's and Bardwell's sons. That's all I got.

I think the owner you are referring to is my cousin! Was that the airstrip right outside of White Castle, maybe near a sugar cane field?

Oliver North did him no favors

My father in law flew with him a lot until the Bay of Pigs. But that's another story.
