Dr told me today I am bone on bone and possibly less than 10 years away from one.

Blew my ACL playing for the semi-mighty Captain Shreve Gators a few decades ago. It took awhile, but the arthritis finally got me.

I want to know if this is gonna end my sex life.

You'd have to have one in the first place, no?

Had two acl reconstructions and the only problem was that I had to get rid of the trapeze in the bedroom.

My uncle. He said pain is gone, but that thing stays swollen. His Dr told him it was his immune system attacking the fake joint. Could take a year to go down.

Had a TKR in August. The first two months were hard but it's much better than before surgery. Don't put it off to the point you're in so much pain it makes you miserable. Your knee isn't going to get better on its own.

Also, consider a spinal over general anesthesia. It makes thr recovery room a breeze. I even talked to them some while they were doing my surgery.

How old are you? Wait as long as you can, ask about synvisc injections , NSAIDs, and work on getting your quads as strong as you can

My Dad had both knees replaced. As long as you do the rehab everything will be fine. He didn't lose his sex life until his prostate was removed so you should be OK with that.

Nah, you should still be able to bend over and let your boyfriend pound your arse from behind.

My uncle had several, 3 I think, primarily caused by his years in the 82nd Airborne.

I could ask him for you, if you build me a time machine and allow me to go back several years, since he passed away you insensitive frick!

Guy I work with is on his 3rd knee replacement I believe due to getting an infection in the replaced knee, TWICE. So he's had five surgeries to install and remove his knee.

My FIL had both knees, Parran had one, my aunt had one, a good buddy of mine had both done at 46 years old.

All of them said they wish they had done it sooner.

My FIL didn't do a lick k
Of rehab for either of his TKRs. All he did was swing on swing everyday for an hour or so and ride his bike 3 times a week for few miles. His Dr. told him if he met all the benchmarks he didn't have to do rehab.

Yes. Modern procedures will have you being 100% in less than a month after rehab. There is a great program at Oschner.

My Wife had one about a month ago.

Same thing...She had ACL surgery in College and she ended up being bone on bone after 20 years.

I have no idea. Our sex life ended after I said "I Do".

My Wife had the spinal (epidural), and I agree, much better recovery time. I would guess that is up to the Surgeon, though.
