Neato XV-21 I think. It's amazing.

Walmart occasionally had it on sale for $299. That's what I paid

I'm assuming the boundary markers are really only used for 2 story homes?

I've got a base model roomba that I found on woot for $100 I think. It does exactly what I need it to do.

No. It has a fall sensor.

Nah, they've got sensors underneath them at the front that detect if it's about to go over a cliff and they just back away from the suicidal plunge.
The boundary markers are used to mark off areas where you don't want the robot to go, say across a doorway leading to an area of the house you don't want the robot in. For instance, I have an unusually high door threshold in my house that pretty much divides the house into two halves. The robots get stuck on the threshold when they try to go over it, so I just have a strip of the boundary marker on either side the threshold and neither of the robots will even try to cross over the threshold when they sense the boundary marker.

Anybody have a neato with kids? We constantly have toys in different spots on the floor. Will the neato be able to adjust or will the constantly changing obstacles on the floor make the neato not worth it?
