Is it hard to get used to driving on the left side of the road?
Any administrative hassles due to being a foreigner?
Thanks.

I rented one in Northern Ireland. No hassle in getting the vehicle. It's very strange driving on the wrong side of the car and road. I had to keep reminding myself to stay on the left. Out of habit I accidentally turned normally into the right lane once. Luckily no one was coming.
I found two lane roads to be to toughest only because I had no concept of lateral distance and I was always afraid I was going to take someone's mirror off. Worked out well though.

Learn to drive a stick-shift.

Ireland, no hassle. Left turn are weird, because you're turning into the wrong side, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Driving on the wrong side of the road is a lot easier on the wrong side of the car, because you still keep yourself in the middle of the road. Driving on the wrong side of the road in the right side of the car was harder, IMO.
ETA: to hell with a stick shift. That was the hardest part to me, shifting with the left hand while trying to figure the rest of the shite out

I had no trouble adjusting to driving. My biggest problem was that it took me a week to stop trying to get in on the left side of the car. The back roads are very narrow with pubs and houses and things just off the roadway. If you drive on the motorways, DO NOT pass somebody on the left and if you get in the passing lane be ready to GO. They don't fool around in that lane.

i lived in England for 3 years ….. there are a few challenges to overcome .. you will want to stay further to the left because it is weird driving on smaller roads be prepared to hit a few curbs …… if you do get a manual transmission i recommend sitting in the parking lot just finding the positions before you try and drive… or if your passenger is able to work the shift this held because it is normal to them .. my wife and i did this so i could keep my eyes on the road …. it also helps having an extra set of eyes to tell which lane to get into … i almost caused a huge accident because i turned into the wrong lane….. round a bouts are easy once you get used to them …. try to not come to a complete stop when merging into them and for god sake use a turn signal …. be prepared to be honked and yelled at
