This girl I've been seeing for about a month invited me to go. Looks like a bunch of hippies to me. Doesn't look like my deal but maybe I'm missing something.

You will end up with fine powdery sand in every crevice of your body.

You should go. If you don't, she'll return with an STD.

I've been twice. 2004 and 2005. My brother actually got married there.

Don't just show up in the middle of the Nevada desert. Research proper survival techniques and prepare. Bring a shitload of water. People have died there.

Also, research BM and its 10 principles so that you're actually contributing to the overall experience rather than just hanging around waiting for others to provide your experience for you.

I'd try to describe the experience, but it really defies description. You have to go there to really understand. I definitely recommend it.

How readily available are the drugs? Is there booths for drugs like food at a fair?

If you enjoy spending a lot of money getting there and buying a lot of drugs in a desert, go.

And coffee. But yeah, bring all of your shite.

Bring proper shelter, too. If you show up with a $20 pup tent that neighborhood kids use to camp out in their own back yards, you're gonna have a bad time.

There are no bath houses. Get a camping shower. There are rows and rows of porta potties, though.

The price is intentionally high to keep out the frat boys and other party trash, and to pay the state of Nevada the increasingly high price of basically renting Black Rock Desert for the week. You have to really want to go there, but I thought it was worth it.

I've been to museums all over the world, and though I almost always enjoy the artwork, none of it compares to the breathtaking pieces I've seen at BM. It really is an assault on the senses. People who say that it's just a bunch of hippies doing drugs either haven't been there or went there just to do drugs, usually the former.
