I won't discuss the new season or spoilers. But I've been getting these updates about the Sayed hearing she's been attending. Not gonna lie listening to her and this other chick talk is getting more and more difficult each time. Like two teenage girls gossiping about boyfriends. "Is that, ya know, like, a real thing?" "I know, right?" "Sooo, like, sooo..."

They also pushed the current season to once every other week, after beginning as a weekly show, which I found surprising. This season is not nearly as captivating anyway. Gotta say they're coming close to losing me. Anybody else unsubscribe?

This season is terrible. The first season was entertaining at least.

I picked up on the Berghdal season but have not listened to the Sayed season. The last episode of the Berghdal podcast was pretty telling of his story I thought.

Dude, totally fricking agree. I can't figure out why it's so fricking annoying but it's horrible. Sucks because I actually want to hear these short updates.

I was deployed in Paktika, exactly where Bergdahl was captured, but two years prior. He is a liar and a deserter. The premise and idea of Serial is good, there are plenty of worthy investigations out there, as proven by season 1 and Making a Murderer on Netflix. The crazy left-wing agenda that was somewhat in focus during season 1, but was muted enough that everyone could get over it an enjoy the program is so much in the forefront this season that it is unbearable. I keep listening hoping something will change, but it doesn't.

I think you're right. She seemed to maintain some objectivity during season one, but by the end it seemed like she was rooting for the dude. Season two just seems like a mailed in cash grab with an agenda to paint bergdahl like some kind of folk hero. Feels like the whole concept is losing steam.

They are all-in for Adnan. Absolutely no objectivity. Glossing over the problems with Asia's testimony like it's no big deal. She's wearing high heels so she must be telling the truth. And their conversation might as well be done through teenage text message with emojis and whatever the frick else. It's disappointing. Bergadhl series is interesting.

Explain this. This was my impression going in to the season, but everyone they interview seems to agree that he was an exemplary soldier before he walked off. Kind of surprising, actually. I think there's a level of bullshite and revisionist history in Bergdahl's interviews, but I don't think that he is a traitor, or ever was one. That dad in the Rose Garden doesn't help though.

The change to every other week is disappointing. I started season 1 in the middle and pretty was able to listen non-stop in the car for a couple weeks. I was hooked.

The updates definitely have a teenage girl feel to it. But they are interesting. I don't think they are rooting for his innocence, but more for a fair trial.

For Bergdahl, I only briefly recall his story and remember thinking "traitor". After hearing this, no way was he a deserter or sympathizer. I think his story and idealistic belief is a bit ridiculous, but not a traitor.

More like delusional and I feel like he is making shite up to make himself not look so bad.

This shows how easy it is for the media to manipulate the story. It's really hard to get to the truth these days.

I listened to only one episode of this season and never listened again. I only listened to the one because I was such a fan of season 1. Picking such a high profile case just didn't work. I thought it might when I first heard the rumors but it backfired for me. May try again next season if she picks a better story.
