Check out the Neato. I have one and it runs couple time a week when I'm not home.

We bought some knock off brand on Amazon black Friday. Dont cheap out. Ours is constantly getting stuck, can't find its way back home, repeatedly cleaning same area while others stay dirty etc. It's a dustbuster on wheels, so you're paying for software and sensors. Dont cheap out like we did.

Yes, worth every penny. Wife lets it run while we are at work. We almost never use the dyson anymore.

The height of this makes it a PITA. It can't go under any furniture except a table. They had a recent test area run review & Roomba smoked it.

I've got one for each of my places. They are great

Roomba has been great for months, but now it has been acting like it's not getting contact with the charging contacts lately. I need to diagnose it further.
Wipe of the metal contact points on the charger and on the bottom of the roomba. That solved my problem. Roomba is awesome. Had mine for a year and still runs great. Will get another if whenever this one quits performing.

It's great if you have pets.

I have a neato. Works well but it's loud as frick. I usually turn it on before leaving my house.

Bought the 650 on Amazon a few weeks ago. We love it. It's nice not having a house full of pet hair.
They work great on dog shite too.

They are just toys no matter what brand. They work for a little while then degrade quickly, especially when a lot of pet hair is involved. Battery packs are filled with low-grade lithium cells, the gear train that drives the brushes is prone to filling with hair and dust which causes malfunctioning, and the filter/dirt collection assembly needs to be completely cleaned or the robot is doing nothing but spreading the crud around. My family keeps buying them and for what they've spent they could have bought a good commercial vacuum that actually works.

We got an older model for less than $200 on clearance a few months ago. We have wood floors and rugs. I let it run sometimes when I leave the house or before bed. We like it. We have four cats. It helps.
It's gotten tangled in an extension cord web under a couch or cabinet before. But usually it works flawlessly.
