I've dealt with it my whole adult life.

I deal with it 3-4 days a week these days. Mixed results from melatonin and sleeping pills.

Anybody have any other tactics to combat insomnia? TIA

Improve sleep hygeine by going to bed and awaking around the same time each morning. Try to stick with this schedule regardless of the day of the week so your body gets used to it.

Only use your bed for sleep. Don't eat, read or watch tv in bed as your body will get used to it. Train yourself so that when you lie down your body only knows sleep in that situation.

Exercise and try to do something physically active during the day.

I don't ever read or watch television in bed, but I know that I'm guilty of not keeping a set sleep schedule.

I will try that out. Thanks for the recommendation.

I've found I sleep much better on days that I put in a good workout in the morning and stop caffeine intake by 4 pm.

ETA: Yesterday I didn't workout and and had caffeinated beverages until 5:30 pm, so GM

I am this week due to a short trip to London. Been getting little 1-2 hour snoozes in since Saturday night/Sunday morning. fricking miserable.

Otw to airport now, so hopefully I get back to normal once I get home.

reading is fine (normally) as long as you aren't reading off of an ipad or kindle.

at about 8:30 or so dim the lights in the house. also the sleep schedule thing.

Got a solid 3 hours in at various times tonight. When my restless leg crap acts up, fml. And tonight it's also restless arm for good measure.

I workout five days a week. Sadly, I've had to eliminate caffeine after noon, which is tough because the day after getting very little sleep is when I feel like I need caffeine most.

I've read that a magnesium citrate supplement can help with jimmy legs. I'm not a doctor, so I won't pretend to be an expert.

Thanks, I'll try anything. If I had some lidocaine here I'd inject it into my legs to numb the sumbitches.

Restless legs are the worst - the wife won't even sit on the couch with me when they act up

I just rolled through Heathrow without taking out my ID or passport once. Sitting in the united lounge outside my gate.

Been a while since I came through here, but that doesn't seem right.
