Depends on if you currently have a job or not. I don't think I'd take another job for more money at this point. Even if everything about it seemed nicer. I've got experience with my current company and about as much security as one can have (admittedly not a whole lot). I'm not rolling the dice for 20 grand more a year or anything in this market personally.

Where are these mountains that you speak of? I grew up just west of Enid and I never saw any mountains. Are you talking about the east side of the state? Or maybe down south by Lawton? That's not exactly Enid...but that is all I can think of when you refer to mountains.

Enid has gotten pretty rough. For a short stint, as long as you are not giving up too much, you will be fine. I just wouldn't plan on living there full time nor give up a career wherever you are to take a short stint in Enid.

yes east side of state, that's why I said "not far" from mountains and nice lakes

if I lived in OKC or anywhere close I'd have a lake house on that end

We moved here from Louisiana. To be honest, I prefer it here. We're a bit north of okc, and I travel out to our office near Enid to do field training at times. Cost of living is a bit cheaper, housing is a lot cheaper, only the seafood selection is lacking. I can get yellowfin to ship me the good seafood if needed.

Louisiana has tornadoes also. We've been here over 3 years and never even really had a close call. Been through some bad weather and warnings, but never had to take the family down in the shelter.

Take the money and go to Enid. I had an uncle who went up there in the 70's, did well perferation work. Ended up starting his own company and marrying a fine little Okie. Lived in Enid until he died last year, not a bad area.

North of okc is really nice also. That's where we're at, although the I want to be a little further north to get some land and spread out some.
