Any of y'all have food allergies?

I got extremely itchy and broke out in hives last Thursday. Been popping benadryl like it's my job but the hives and welts still come in waves. Maybe 3-4 times a day.
I'm thinking it's from onions or crawfish but I've never had any problems with either in the past. Doctor said allergies can pop up at any time in life.
Regardless, it sucks.
Any thoughts?

Three people in my family have crawfish allergies that all started this way as adults after eating them just fine up until that point.

might have been something in the crawfish boil and not the crawfish themselves.
My Father is allergic to seafood. He would break out in hives every time he ate Zaxby's. I told him to stop eating the Zax Sauce because it contains anchovies. Sometimes it might be an ingredient that you don't think about that is causing the allergic reactions.

Its not onions.
Undercooked crayfish.
1. buy epi pen.
2. Lay off shrimp, crayfish, mussells, et cetera for 6 months.
Make damn sure its cooked if you must have it. It means you need to prepare your own, really. And have an epi pen at the ready.
I had a spectacular reaction to shrimp after 2 decades of eating it. It was probably undercooked or even contaminated.

shellfish.... ate it my whole life until i was 24... Then all of a sudden major reaction. Ended up in hospital throat closing on me.
Went and got tested few weeks later and found out allergic to all shellfish... (you will be also) You wont be allergic to crawfish and not shrimp, or crab. All carry same protein.
Found out each reaction gets worse, and dr told me this has probably been building up a couple years. And as i thought about it i had remembered for a year or 2 everytime i ate seafood my throat would itch a little. So it all started making sense.
Dr advised me not to eat any shellfish again, or anything cooked in same grease or on same grill. cross contamination could kill me just as easy. I also carry an epi pen with me. Its a very serious deal, i would recommend you go see an allergy specialist and be tested.

Yes, I can't eat most all fresh vegetables(except leafy veggies, tomatoes, onions), bananas, melons, mangoes, tree nuts, raw oysters, high alcohol content drinks.
I don't break out in hives but my mouth itches and I'll start sneezing and coughing. Sometimes I can have issues breathing, but I can usually identify an allergic reaction in the first few bites.
As long as vegetables and oysters are cooked, I can eat them fine. I still can drink beer, just can't drink real fast.
Sucks, but it's just something I have to deal with.

Yeah once you have had that allergic reaction i highly recommend going to get tested for all food allergies. They can do blood test

Had a peanut allergy as a kid but somehow later in life it cured itself.

I get blotchy, hive, and have shortness of breathe whenever I drink bourbon. It sucks.

after a blood test, my doctor told me I'm allergic to peanuts and scallops. also said I'm gluten sensitive (not found in blood test).
I told him I thought it was BS because the OT said gluten sensitivity is BS. anyway, I laid off gluten for a while and feel much better.
