Any good "no kill" shelters in the Lafayette or BR area?

We found 2 puppies near our house a couple days ago. They look to be about 8-10 weeks old. Catahoula breed by the looks. One is blind. A real piece of shite just hauled them off and left them in a ditch to starve.

We asked all our neighbors and nobody has claimed them or said they've seen anything. We have a dog already and aren't in a situation to take care of 2 more at the moment. Anyone know of any shelters in the BR or Lafayette area that we can bring them to without them being put down if they aren't adopted?

TIA

Heartless bastards. Should've put it out of its misery then and there instead of leaving it to suffer.

Are you sure it's blind? Many young puppies appear to be blind, but it's just that their vision has not fully developed yet.

The denham springs shelter is no kill. My gf (no pics) likes to volunteer there from time to time.

I'll take them in to my kennel at my house. It has a 50 acre backyard for their pleasure.

They have collars, right?

This is for the runners (with no collars, of course). I'm not cruel like that.

You have to have proof of residency within the city limits to take a dog in

Where do you live? This group may not be able to take them but can probably tell you where to bring them if you are near BR. FOTA

Go to Facebook and look up Friends of Lafayette Animal Shelter. They helped to place a puppy that we found and they recently placed a blind pup with a rescue in another state. Delta Airlines had an attendant who is part of the rescue group and she "escorted" AnnIe to her new home.

They're a great group.

Is the blind one predominately white in color?

If so, it's probably not just blind. Catahoulas that are white typically can suffer from a variety of problems. Blindness being one. Along with blindness usually comes liver problems. My information is anecdotal but I had Catahoulas for 20 years (last one just died in December) and one of my litters had a mostly white pup. He was blind and didn't live very long despite our best efforts to take care of him.

I'd take one of the pups but I'm done with Catahoulas. The females are ALL crazy.

Looks like a German MG-42. Either that or a MG-34.

I'm going with a 42. Gotta love the quick change barrel.
