Everyone I know that does this and is under the age of 50 can't stay married for more than a couple of years.

The only ones that can make it work are empty nesters that are north of 50. Lives are more settled, kids are grown, more trust in the marriage.

My parents stayed married. They will make 40 years 2/15/15. But they are in the minority.

I do believe that in most cases at least one spouse likely strays at some point though.

There are times where I have to travel quite a bit, but outside of 2-3 conferences each year, it's mostly regional travel. That makes it easier because a lot of those can be day trips.

Sometimes it does suck flying 2-3 hours each way for a 1 hour meeting/lunch, but at least I get to sleep in my own bed that night.

it sucks. ups and downs of stress. then when you arent traveling and you are at home with the fam, i personally tend to feel guilty that im not on the road or in the office.

vacations are nearly free, but i would pay for the vacation if i could be home more.

i quit counting airline miles and will hit about 150 hotel nights this year, which equivalates to nearly 200 days away from home.
