Does anyone have experience either way these shoes?

High arch and wide foot. Still struggling to find the perfect shoe. Brooks Glycerin 13s were great but the 14 didn't fit as well.

best shoes ever. i've run several half marathons in them including the Golden Leaf (Snowmass to Aspen trail run). i've done 4-5 day backpacks in them too, including in Glacier.

eta:

my current pair are Superiors, but i've run in the Lone Peaks and Torins.

My wife (no pics) has a wide forefoot and almost no arch. She's got three pairs. She loves them.

great shoes

Takes awhile to get used to the "zero" drop.

Loved the shoes, wife and I have both had pairs....

be warned ---- do anything other than run in these shoes and they will fall apart rapidly.

I just bought my first pair (Torins 2.5) the other week. I have been breaking them in and getting used to the zero drop by alternating them with my old shoes. Yesterday I finally started to feel my feet and calves adapt to the zero drop. The first few runs were pretty tough. They are incredibly comfortable.

I love how much room my toes have.

Which ones did you do the Golden Leaf and backpacks in? I'm in the market for my first trail shoe.

I loaded up on glycerin 13s because they are so comfortable. Have a few in the box in storage

Do you mean like wearing them casually? Or, other sports?

Sounds like this is the way to go.

Loved those shoes and wish I would have done the same. By the time I had the idea to do it I couldn't find any in my size. I have not been a fan of the 14s; something is off.

For high arch get Asics Gel Kayanos.

Worth every penny

I mean wear them causally. Once you get accustom to the wide toe box and zero drop -- it is hard to wear other shoes.

However, my wife and I have flown through 2 pairs each -- and most of the damage was just from every day wear and tear.

Look at the brooks ghost or new balance 880. Both are high arch and a bit wider.

39+ years of running, most of it at a competive level. I've run in all of the major brands and several niche market brands.

Altra gets "it." I'm sick of the crappy shoes major brands market these days.

Altra as a brand reminds me of Asics from the mid 80's. Try a pair. I think you will like the shoes.

I have my first pair. I like them. I have a wide foot and I am a toe striker. They seem to be good, however, as mentioned, they seem like they may not hold up for many miles.
It is odd putting them on and standing up. you'll feel like you're falling bcakwards.

I have several pairs. Run trails, the road, treadmill, ultras, pretty much everything in them. I love them and recommend them to all my clients. The only other shoe I will run in is Inov8s for OCRs.

I have some. I like them, they're real comfy. Only issue I've had is where the Achilles' tendon is has worn out really easily. Haven't decided if I would get another pair.
