I just spotted this on my Amazon home page. You basically stick these next to the product in your house. When you're low, just hit the button, and it automatically orders on Amazon Prime.

quote:

Dash has buttons for batteries, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Slim Jim, condoms, and Red Bull

quote:

You pay $4.99 when you purchase a Dash button, but you’re immediately given a credit for $4.99 in future purchases on that button. So essentially, it’s free.

I think it's a neat idea, although most of the things that you can order through it I wouldn't want to have to wait for the delivery.

I just can't help but think it just brings us one step closer to idiocracy.

I've had 3 of them for about a month now. Love them. Have ones for Tide, paper towels, and trash bags.

When you press the button once, the item is ordered. Any presses after that do nothing until the item is delivered. We let our kids press it when we need something, but they know not to play with it. It ships free on Amazon prime and arrives either the next day or 2 days later.

It's my understanding that it doesn't fully place the order. It just puts the items in your cart and sends you an email or something to confirm the order. You'll know if your kid presses it. It won't just ship it.

These are better than the Amazon listening devices which are creepy as heck and will one day be used by our government to invade our privacy.

You're over a year late

That said, we have them for paper towels, paper plates and laundry detergent.

False. It requires no other action. You can cancel it in the app if you do it quickly though.

false. It 100% ships right out if you press it.

However, if you press it while an order is en route it wont accept it. So someone can't go behind you and press it 20 times and frick you over.

I have one for detergent. It was a completely unnecessary purchase but it also was only $5 and i use it. Works well.

Just press it when you're running low. It's prime. Once you get to the point where you'll only have enough for a few more days, order more. Prime has free 2 day shipping. And usually it doesn't even take a full two days
I've had instances where I've order something and it was here the next day. I have nothing but good things to say about Amazon. Unbeatable service and their customer service is just as good.

I used my school email and you're supposed to get like a year of prime for free. Maybe it's 6 months, I don't remember. But they charged me. So I called and they gave me a year of prime for free (or whatever you get with the student discount, might be 6 months as I said) and then an additional year for free because they messed up. and I just got a new student email because I transferred schools

You also get the $5 back. It gives you a $5 credit on your first order from the button.

*in the middle of sex*
*pushes button*
Girl: what was that?
Guy: I only have a few condoms left. I pressed this button, so I'll have fresh condoms in a day or two
