Really? It surprises me how non-confrontational the OT is being over this.

Because it takes two seconds to set up a Paypal account and protect both the buyer and seller.

You have no room to complain when you were just being lazy.

This isn't 1999.

I'm in for about $18 on the shipping so it isn't that big a deal.

Done it plenty of times. First time burned. It's a forum similar to this one and the material was basically scrap metal.

btw, if it was anything worth real value I would have waited for payment.

So you lost $18 and what you have called scrap metal, and you want to harass a guy for that?

Well if you want to waste the effort, here's what I'd do:

Contact the guy to see if he actually ever sent the payment; things do get lost in the mail/errors can be made when e paying. Give him the opportunity to make it right. If not, then make sure you post something on the forum advising all that this guy will not/has not paid. I don't think the ramifications of sending a bag of poo or e-harassing someone is worth $18. But that's just me.

ETA This is similar to CADnumbersX bitching about amazon on a bad purchase he made, for $9.

Not to make the story any longer, but I got the flatrate box and packed at shipped it within 15 minutes at the post office. Wasn't sure if it would fit, when it did I didnt want to wait around for him to paypal and make another trip.

Sent him my paypal info once I knew the shipping.

I have bought stuff from here, all went well.
always face to face transactions though.
Smallest was a lawnmower, largest was a car.
I have sold tickets on TE as well.

It is not $18. $18 is his cost. The value is $100. Which is why the guy did not pay. If you steal from a high end store, they go with the value of the good not what it cost them to buy it.

$118? Not worth pursuing, chalk it up to a lesson for the future.

I got a guy in BR who owes me $170.

I would love to send some one there to leave a flaming bag of poo. I HATE slumlords with money who take months to pay small invoices.

I know that, but he clearly stated the parts were of no value to him, and only said he's out $18. That's why I'm focusing on the $18, and not the total cost.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be upset, but you never know what this guy will do when he starts getting harassed or bags of poo.
He'll have an idea of who's doing it bc he knows who he didn't pay. Like I said earlier, I don't know what can happen if it escalated and charges were filed (or some other worst case scenario), I just don't think that's worth the money lost.

Also, this would have been easily preventable had you waited for payment. The easily preventable part is why I compared it to the amazon thread.

They were in a pile of other scrap stuff that I pulled off the Jeep. Have had them up for free to anyone local. It was $75 + shipping the ad he saw on a national forum.

If you call him out on Pirate and Yellow Bullet, that'll be more than he'll ever want.

There have been businesses ruined in the performance industry because of bad threads on the Bullet. I think some of those guys sit around all day just looking to bust someone's chops for sport.

Have thought of this. Might wait a year or so before doing this just to not make it obvious. Good point about retaliation. Although all he has is my phone number/paypal.
