Holy shite

I'd have to be physically restrained if I was the pilot.

Fast action by the crew of the plane landing.

I hate seeing that - I'm flying to Switzerland in April.

It wasn't as close as it looks. Those planes are still probably 4,000'-5,000' apart. Still a big mistake by the someone.

frick being mad at the pilot who pulled out if I were both of them some air traffic controller would have to be hospitalized. Those windows aren't the best for seeing a damn plane about to land. Hell you probably would have had a hard time getting a good enough view if it was the size of a car windshield.

I bet that scared the shite out of the people on the plane that pulled out in front.

Air traffic controllers fricked up here. Someone should get fired or at least suspended over this.

Still not out of the woods, there could be another plane coming in on approach on a separate runway expected that aircraft to land, my guess is a few planes had to take evasive action, not aggressive but def had to move.

Wouldn't it be the ground traffic controllers?

And I wonder if this happens more than we'd like to realize. I've been in a plane that aborted, did a fly-around (or whatever it's called), and then landed (again). Always wondered what happened.

Yeah, people really don't realize just how crowded the sky really is. The plane pulling up could very well have been flying into the direction of another plane that was in a holding pattern or cleared to land on another runway.

We had to do that last Sunday flying back to DEN from SLC. We may not have been that close to touching down, but the wheels were down and we couldn't have been more than 100' off the deck before the jets went full throttle and we started to go back up.

ETA: the pilot came on about halfway through our flyaround and said another plane was slow getting out of the way. Landed just fine on the next pass.
