Yea, one of the first responses told the guy to go over to the Tech board to get help zooming in on the plate. People on tOT were douche bags in that thread, so he went over there and got help. Great job Tech Board

My favorite solved case was the one where the guy was going to sell his iPhone to someone. When they met to do the deal the buyer grabbed his phone and ran off. OP had the buyer's number and posted it here. Hilarity ensued

The guy who kidnapped and murdered the girl in Lafayette a few years ago, it was all over national news. The news showed video of a white truck driving past and wanted help from anyone who knew anything about it. A poster had just been in a thread talking about how his sister's new date looked a bit "off", realized a couple of days later that was his truck and contacted police.
