re: Angel's Landing at Zion National Park

Did Bryce and Zion last November. Great trip. Both parks are outstanding. Anyone that has the time I can't recommend them enough.

We hit Yosemite about 3 years ago. Another must see.

I've been to both Zion and Bryce and of course, the Grand Canyon. Best part of going to Vegas to me. Stay in Vegas. Spend your days in parks and maybe spend a night or two in Utah.

Not a big Vegas guy. But love Vegas trips for those (relatively) nearby parks.

My one complaint about much of the west is too much desert. I'd like a bit more green. The pacific northwest and parts of Appalachia are stunning in my opinion.

Having said that, it's always breathtaking to me to drive from Vegas into that northwest corner of Arizona and the Virgin River Gorge crossing into Utah. The change of landscape from relatively flat desert around Mesquite and into these majestic mountains is amazing to me, especially coming from the swampy gulf coast.

Isn't this where that guy was supposed to jump at exactly midnight last December when the world was supposed to end? I think he said a portal would open up and he'd end up in an alternate universe or something. Maybe it was NM.

Totally agreed. Done it that way four times, plan to again.

About 1 person every year dies on that hike.

If you do a little research you'll find that most of them are jumpers or people who attempted to climb the face directly, which isn't exactly following the trail.

It is definitely vertigo-inducing with spectacular views but any competent adult can do it perfectly safely.
