What the frick has a plumber ever done for anyone btw?
One recently saved my house and yard from being covered in shite when my 2 year old thought it was fun to flush a whole box of baby wipes.

There's a difference between respect and worship is the point you miss.
You can show respect to anyone without venturing over into the worship aspect.
No kidding? Christ. I'll go back to the F&D Board. I know y'all won't miss me.

He worded it poorly but let's not act like the war on terrorism in Iraq, Afghan, etc at this point is doing a lot to protect American Soil. It moved way beyond that years ago and you could make a strong case it was never really about that anyway.
I support the war because it will keep the lifestyle that we live continuous

Did you tip him.
Consider this Amy's tip for a job well done and let's be on our way.

He did. He lives in Japan and has no plans on coming back. I guess I can respect that at least.

He did the work pro bono? Or charged the hell out of that at 80 plus per hour?

She can do what she wants. I don't care. But you have people like kywildcat who then says, "Other first class passengers should do this." It goes to the mindset of how we look at the military, as if they are beyond reproach. Such line of thinking is dangerous no matter who the object of such praise is.

Why can't this just be a very nice gesture on Amy's part.
I would like to think it is; her own father is a vet, and she was born on a US base in Italy. I wouldn't be shocked if she gave the guy her seat, after hanging up from a phone call from her Dad, or some other sort of thing that made her think back.
I know I'd like for her to be that kind of person.

The military gets paid. Should I tip a Marine the next time I see one?

Touchy subject I will shut up about now.
I am respectful of all military, but like I said they know the potential dangers of the job signing up. I have family and friends who have served and they all knew what they were getting into. They are humble about it and see/saw it as a job. Nothing more and don't ask for any special treatment because of it because at the end of the day it is their job.

That's basically what Amy did. Consider it a tip.

Ahhh well he must not enjoy Japan if he still worried about what's going on over here...

Yeah but theres no need to blame the solider thats over there or minimize what they do. They dont decide where they go. Thats the governments job. The solider is just doing his job. If you dont agree with why we are over there, thats 1 thing. But to act like the soldiers that are / have been over there arent sacrificing a lot and doing a lot for us just is not right.

According to ESPN host Jemele Hill, Adams gave up her first-class seat on a flight so an American soldier could sit in the classy cabin. Hill, who co-hosts “Numbers Never Lie,” tweeted about the event from her verified account.
And stayed in her first class seat because frick the military.
Too busy writing about it to help.

So you are cool with risking lives for oil?
Got it.
I would say that makes you more anti-American than Jeff since you are fine with men and women dying for it.
BTW, America currently produces more oil than the middle east. We have enough to last a long time without risking lives and war.

But jumping the gun, and calling this "military worship" is bullshite.
At worst, this is a kind gesture from one person to another. The recipient being, most likely, much less fortunate than the giver.
So, you feel that she should have given her ticket to someone more deserving. What was the profession of the last person with which you made a first class/coach ticket trade?

Thank you goes a long way with someone who cares about serving their country.
