Yeah but I heard the economy is on fire so it’s all good.

In the announcement, Clancy noted that Twitch paid out over $1 billion to streamers last year, remarking that “while the Twitch business remains strong, for some time now the organization has been sized based upon where we optimistically expect our business to be in 3 or more years, not where we’re at today.”
I can believe that number but I have to imagine plenty of their 'viewer' counts are highly inflated or just downright false.

Silicon Valley has an unfortunate culture of deception.

I can only speak to Twitch, but a lot of their staff is just unnecessary and Amazon wants them to at least start breaking even. They haven't turned a profit since they were acquired -- not even during the pandemic.
When Elon bought Twitter and fired 75% of the employees, he demonstrated that tech companies can run a lot leaner and Zuck and Bezos have taken note.

Greatest economic recovery in the history of our Nation and our Democracy was saved to boot. Plus we got a couple wars started under this Admin too.... Can't say enough about 'em.

As soon as Prime raised their rates on premium channels and threatened commercials, I cancelled all my premium channels. Stop voting Democrat, Bezos.

Buy Amazon and Twitch now because the stocks will certainly rise with the loss of the payroll overhead.

Is that the platform where the girl dressed like an elf or something pretends to eat food and thirsty dudes just throw money at her?

It would be interesting to see the ratio of DEI hires in these layoffs
A lot of the Prime Video and MGM layoffs are a result of the Hollywood strikes where little guys were tricked into striking to get the superstars more money from the studios. Now the little ants are being laid off because productions have now essentially been halved.

Yeah. I'm kind of bummed because I have been working hard on my Twitch content. They just don't care about content creators anymore. SMH
