This might be odd or strange or whatever. I don't care. Just want honest answers

Curious for responses because I'm feeling like I'm going crazy and want o to know if I'm being a pussy or not. I'm a contractor in in the investment finance industry. Lost 15 pounds in the last week and 1/2 because haven't been able to take time to eat lunch or breakfast (though that is more on me for. Or getting up earlier but too ducking tired). Also, might be pretty direct with them I need to take some time off going soon. Worked at least 40 hours a week the last 58 weeks with the exception of one week where I worked 39 hours. Worked most holidays and on the holidays I have not worked, I've made the time up with long days. Been the only person for my firm who can even do what I do so I'm responsible for all the baggage with those tasks.

Worked for Home 6 days in over a year including when I was told I could t come into work for eye infection and Christmas. 'FTE get 3-5 weeks off a year plus holidays and 10 plus floating seats. It's actually mandated that FTE take off 12 days in store

I don't know if I'm considered g across as lazy birch or not but I'm exhausted.

I'm lost. 40 hours per week is a lot? I work more than that and don't think I work excessively. You want to make the money then you need to put in the time.

Nope. If you are overworked you gain weight because you eat garbage and then drink heavily in your rare off hours.

First, I hope you aren't a proofreader in a publishing firm.

Second, take off. If you are allowed vacation and you are so valuable to your company they won't replace you for taking vacation. Some people can't seem to understand that businesses find a way to make it work.

Third, you worked 40 hours a week for 58 weeks. Only 29 more of those to go until retirement. It is called a career.

Sounds like you go to bed too late. Take a breath and realize the world won't stop and people won't die if you slow down a little bit at work.

Also, maybe you should reconsider your profession, and determine if it's something you actually enjoy doing

15 lbs in one week and extreme exhaustion may be more than being overworked. Take a few hours and go to the doctor.

I gain weight when I work too much. Like others have posted...I drink a lot more calaories and I eat convenient but unhealthy garbage during my most intense weeks, which never include enough time for exercise.

If you are taking weekends off, then you aren't what I would call overworked. now, it does sound like you need a break and to take a day off here and there. honestly, we all like to do a good job and feel needed, but I have seen some staffing issues pop up that I thought would collapse the company, but you know what?...we shifted some folks and duties around and we made it through. your company can do without anyone for a few days and believe me, no one will miss you.

40 hours and over worked, really?

But to touch on your weight loss my most stressful job was working at Publix. I was a meat cutter. Never could finish an entire days tasks when opening or closing the department. I had nightmares about my upcoming shifts. I went from 165 lbs to 132 lbs in two months.

I thought I had diabetes or cancer. Needless to say I finally went to the doctor. Every blood test, X-ray, and MRI came back clean. I was left with a hefty doctor bill even after insurance. Never again.

No need to be rude. I have been approached by mgmt about working too much so this isn't complete bullshite by me.

quote:

routinely leave work at 8pm on Friday night.[/quot

That ain't unusual at all n but usually people take time off when they have a week like that or a half day: .

[quote]worked 60 hours a week since Februar

quote:

I'm salary and routinely leave woLrk at 8p
And you'd be fired for that here for being inefficient

I've known salaried employees who have been fired for that. It ain't the time put in or the 3 An calls or the 9 m meetings on sundays, it's the unendimg stress and shite for days and days in a rw.

Biggest symptoms of AIDS are weight loss and fatigue. Go get tested. The stigma isn't as bad as it used to be. Just worry about getting better for now.
