Does $20 for 6 oysters seem a bit high?

Also as an addendum to this thread, how is it like living in Houma. I do miss South La but I am able to live anywhere in the world the next few years. I wouldn't mind spending some time fishing

A thread is for a single coherent thought

Houma is not bad but if I had the choice to live anywhere in the world, it wouldn't be Houma.

Gulf oysters?? Absolutely. At worst a buck each. Often only 0.50 each on the right night. Charbroiled.... Still too high

Maybe the cam guaranteed stuffed with pearls and you missed them

Houma has some really nice places and some really crappy ones. Pretty much like every place. I'd prefer Thibodaux. You can do fishing from any of them.

Gulf oysters? Absolutely.

But if you go out on the west coast or to New England, no. Oysters are damn expensive up here - usually at least $3.50 each, often more.

A lot of restaurants will do specials for $1 oysters, that's as cheap as it's going to get. Makes me miss ten cent oysters at the Chimes.

It is high, but not unheard of. Paid right around $36 for a dozen in San Francisco about a month ago.
