So my parents have wanted to go on an Alaskan Cruise for as long as I can remember, I'm looking to surprise them with a trip this summer.
Any suggestions on cruise lines and itineraries ?

I went on a Celebrity cruise when I was 15 with my family. We went through the inside passage stopping at Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway. We went whale watching and fished salmon, it was really a great trip.
For a nicer cruise line check out Oceania, my parents did a Mediterranean cruise a couple years ago with them and are doing a Norwegian cruise this year. A lot nicer and smaller than mega cruise lines.

Sail the inside passage out of Vancouver. Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan and Glacier Bay.

The OT hates cruises
Cruises are great for old people, can be kind of lame for those able to travel and get around easily

My wife and I did a Norwegian cruise last year on the Pearl. The ship wasn't as nice as others that I have been on, but the experience was about the same and it was cheaper. Freestyle cruising was OK, we ended up paying to eat at the nicer restaurants a few times anyway to avoid the crowds. We went to Juneau, Skaqway, Ketchikan, and Victoria. It was the 7-Day glacier bay cruise. I loved Alaska and wish I had more time there rather than on the cruise ship. Glacier Bay was OK too, it seemed like a time filler though. Would much rather to that tour in a kayak rather than a cruise ship.

We did our Alaskan cruise with Celebrity, and it was awesome. Can't remember which itinerary, but I want to say it was between 7 and 10 days long.

I did a princess cruise with the 'rents and it was great. Definitely an older crowd though. Juneau, Skagway, Ketchican, Vancouver, Glacier Bay. Take advantage of the excursions. Go in the Summer and enjoy the amazing Alaskan landscape. It's some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen.

My friends all say to purchase the excursion where you go walk the glacier.

What's your budget? I'm affiliated with the industry and can give some advice.

I did a one week on Holland America out of Seattle a few years ago that was pretty good. You basically got Glacier Bay, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, plus a quick stop in Victoria. I went on the glacier hike, but not through the cruise line. I think it was Above and Beyond Alaska.

They do hikes to the ice caves. Amazing place and even better in winter

Fortunately, Alaskan cruises tend to scare off the other kind of whales.

My budget is kind of flexible, I'm looking at 7 nights one way from Vancouver to Anchorage.
Im now considering having myself and S/O going with them and once we get to anchorage splitting off and going spend a few nights in Denali

Did the Disney Cruise from Seattle, Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, Victoria B.C,Tracy Arms, drove up Yukon highway 300 miles ate at a nice little place in the middle of nowhere. Got back to Seattle rented a car drove to Vancouver for two days. Back to Seattle for two days great trip. Let me tell you guys I'm a brother and we were so far off the beating path at this eating/hole in the wall, this place had this I don't know feeling to it. All I could think about was if something went wrong no one would ever find us lol they were great people and the food were great, caribou sausage and steak wow.

Oceania cruise line with cabin that includes butler services (PH or above).
Steamer clams in every port
Or book princess and add cruise tour with Denali Park or go all the way to Arctic Circle
