Alabama lawmakers have passed a near total ban on abortion. If signed into law, it would be the most restrictive abortion measure in the United States. The state Senate on Tuesday passed the bill that would make performing an abortion at any stage of pregnancy a felony. The bill now goes to Gov. Kay Ivey, who will decide whether to sign the legislation into law. The Republican has not said publically whether she supports the measure. Senators voted 25-6 for the bill that already cleared the House of Representatives. The bill contains an exception for when the pregnancy creates a serious health risk for the woman, but there is no exception for rape or incest. Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio and Georgia recently have approved bans on abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can occur in about the sixth week of pregnancy. Critics have promised a swift lawsuit to challenge the ban if enacted.

as much as I think abortion is wrong I hate to say this but if it wasnt for abortion wed have a lot more trashier elements of society around.

Any legitimate evidence to support this?

If we didn't subsidize childbirth we'd have a lot less trashy residents.

Good for them! It won’t last long cause someone will sue to overturn it. But in the meantime all the dumb counts like Alyssa Milano and all the other pro abortion tards will be melting.

Yeah, frick people who murder babies. You’d have to be a sick son of a bitch to kill a baby. The Hippocratic oath “do no harm”

This law is designed to be challenged in the courts with the hope that it will make it to the Supreme Court of the United States and that the Supremes will overturn Roe v. Wade (and Planned Parenthood v. Casey). The law is, without question, unconstitutional under current Supreme Court case law given the decisions in the above cases.

The hope of making it to SCOTUS is likely one of the reasons that there are not exceptions for rape and incest.

About time. I don’t understand why people enjoy murdering babies so much.

That's the point. To get it all the way to the Supreme Court.

I don’t have any solid thoughts about abortion one way or the other.

I also strongly do not like this appearing more to be about power politics than creating a valid law.

Those are my two cents.
