So the Atlanta Journal Constitution likes to run misleading headlines. I hardly think the word overdose needed to be thrown into this story....Not to mention they say it was a Florida (not surprising) kid in the headline, but refer to him as a New York Child in the article.
How has journalism become so terrible.
You cant overdose on pot....
Kids dad is a moron though.

A 10-year-old boy overdosed after eating cannabis-infused candy, authorities said.
The New York child was sitting unsupervised in the family car when he discovered the sour gummy candies infused with medical cannabis, according to WCBS.
quote:
The boy was rushed to the emergency room after he “ingested at least one piece of the candy containing 250 mg or more of THC,” WCBS reported.
He was treated and released from the hospital, according to the Town of Ramapo Police Department.
The boy’s father, Ephraim Zagelbaum, 37, of Spring Valley, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

It is a lot. But the kid probably just got super stoned.
In no way am I advocating for 10 year olds to be able to get high. Just thinking the word overdoes typically is associated with a death.

Sure you can. The boy took in a dose larger than his little body can handle.... Aka, an overdose.

I would hope this charge would be applied even without the THC.

Wtf.. yes you can. You can overdose on water

The 250mg is a mistake. Each gummy contains 25mg.

This kids life is ruined now. No one is going to hire him when they google search his name and find out how much Pot he's used.

Not a word.

Hey potheads, weed isn't a superfood. It is not good for you. Pretending that it is akin to kale or greens does not help your cause.
A kid ingesting pot candy is bad and dangerous. So is a kid of that age ingesting alcohol. You can't play the "pot is just like booze" game and then try to treat it differently when the same negative affects of booze happens.

Yes you can.
The problem with edibles is you don't feel the high as quickly as smoking and you tend to eat more. It's actually become a problem in Washington and Colorado.

So what did the kid go to the hospital for?

Out here in california, you buy a 3 dose cookie with 150.
Package says, "you can always have more". Blasted for hours if you get up to 1/4.
250 sounds awful for a single piece of candy.
We buy at store 4 dose hard candies which have 77. You get just a bit over 1/4 and you cant walk safely for 90 minutes.
If a child ingested 250 that would be a life altering experience akin to lsd without an experienced guide.

Not to mention potential brain damage.

Cbd not a super good superfood because you say so. Cbd??
No one approves giving 250 to child ( or really, anyone but someone in immediate procees of dying)

Yep. Edibles take at least an hour. People used to smoking want the ride NOW.
And some edibles are delicious.
Chocolate chip. Yummm.

While on a guys trip, I gave a friend who is not experienced with edibles (x1) 10mg Brownie and (x1) 10mg gummy bear. Then we all went out to the bars.
Within in a hour he forgot how to speak. Within 2 hours he forgot how to walk.
Next day, another friend who is experienced, ate just (x1) 10mg Gummy Bear. Even he had to go sit in the car four an hour to chill out. we concluded the gummy bears weren't consistent.
While experienced edible eaters would easily handle 20mg or more, he could not. So I cannot imagine what 250mgs would do to a person/child.

WRONG!. On so many instances.
Ask the children and families or children with autism or epilepsy. THC is the saving grace for these families. Reducing seizures and normalizing the lives of kids with autism.
Marijuana also doesn't cause similar side effects as alcohol.

Marijuana is a psychoactive. ANY mind altering drug can affect brain development in a negative way. The age threshold is 25 i believe. Meaning that is when it is fully developed. This goes for alcohol as well.

I didn't state children with existing brain development issues. Look it up if you don't believe me. Hell, even one of the biggest pot proponents in the US, Joe Rogan, admits as such.
Stop trying to pretend weed is this super plant with no ill side effects.
