Just looked at the benefit plans for the family next year. Dental going up, life insurance going up, medical going up. Got my proposed property taxes for next year going up. The good news is the tax collector says my house is worth more,Yeah, and now my dental includes teeth whitening with me only having to pay 50% of the cost . Yeah Boy!

You would be more fortunate if you pumped out babies and didn't work

I'm on salary . Maybe Pizza delivery sidejob like back in the college days .
Man i feel like the patient with about 9 needles in my arm getting drained but instead of blood its my Money.
City overspends no worries we'll tell them their house is worth more and just increase property taxes and continue the wasteful spending.
Ah no job! no worries we'll pass it on to the people who work they can just spend more for crappier insurance every year. My kids are like hey dad why do we never go on vacation?
My reply,"Well we now living in a more expensive house and we helping out the people who can't help themselves." Man that just calms them right down.

Where medical insurance is about the same cost as a mortgage.

My health insurance is 100 less then my mortgage now. Just checked and it goes up to 1420 bucks for my family of four. Is it appropriate to say thanks Obama?

Such is life in the Basket of Deplorables.

Your hard-earned money is taken from you, by people who despise you.

Needs to be a system of checks and balances on this part of tax collecting. One assessor can really make you have a bad day.

In the 4 years in my house the property taxes have gone up like 2k a year hear in jax. Whats remarkable is that they have built so many new neighborhoods in our section of town. One would think we would get a break for a year with all the new people to tax but nah. Keep milking the that cash cow. I mean these city workers need to get them bonuses! Sad really what the city, state and federal government has done to middle class. My retire years will be spent behind a desk i guess but hey i guess death will be my retirement!

When I first bought my house, the city forced me to tear down the two car garage with an apartment above having an income of 600 a month. They said the foundation was sinking, yet I see people living in worse shite holes than what my garage had.

When I decided to tear it down and rebuild it myself the assessor would come by every week asking when I was going to be done so he could add it to my taxes. I decided to rebuild (very slowly) without the apartment since it was such a hassle to deal with the eviction process. One would think without the income property my taxes would go down right? Nope, they went up over 1,000 for a single story building.

This same assessor is the one who determines how much my business is worth as well from equipment to shelves, basically anything in the building. He can say my freezer is worth 200 or 20,000. Kind of scary if you think about it.

And the liberals reply at my work when Obama care was thrown on us, "Well its better then what we had!"

Now the insurance companies are dropping Obama care and if they ain't they just pass it along to the working people that have insurance. Thanks Obama

Yep, sucks. My company family insurance is around $600 a month my part, but it doesn't kick in until I meet my $4000 deductible. Meanwhile, Medicare folks are getting thier free knee braces, hover rounds, and having 80% of all thier procedures covered.

I've always thought you should be able to reverse-eminent-domain -- if you think you're overassessed you say, "I'll take it" and hand over the deed, and the entity doing the assessment is required to cut you a check instantly for the amount they claim it's worth.
