After Obama was elected I noticed some of my black clients hung photos of Obama

I often visit my clients at home. Shortly after Obama was elected I noticed that many actually hung his photo or an artists rendering (cheap print) on the wall. I understood this as a perfectly legitimate expression of pride by black Americans. Like Italians who put Sinatra up or my Cajun buddy whose dad had a photo of EWE on the wall back in the 70's.

What's the significance? I mean maybe if he made America great again it would make sense to hang one up, but he hasn't done anything yet. And 45 isn't some token number. It would be quite weird to have Donald Trump hanging up in my house if he gets elected, there's been 43 other Caucasian wealthy male presidents. I guess his picture signifies he was the wealthiest one?

Well Sinatra's been dead for a long time now. So you know-just drawing on earlier precedence. Not really conducting a nationwide audit of Italian people's wall space. Quitta breaking my balls.

Is this really anything new? Roman Catholics had pictures of JFK in their house after he was elected.
