Advice for knee pain

27 year old male
Non insurance (No ObamaCare for me) guy here.
Recommendations on a doctor in the BR area?
10 years ago I had some bone marrow removed just below my knee. Needed some marrow for a jaw surgery I had. Anyway, my knee took a while to heal from that. Occasionally I would be walking and I would just fall down. Like my knee would give out. That went away after two years or so.
The past 3 years or so my knee hurts when I make slow movements when I put pressure on it or no pressure at all. For example if I were to get in a golf cart, if I get in on the passenger side my knee hurts in an unfavorable way. Same thing happens when sitting down. When I run or play basketball my knee is fine, or so I thought. I went jogging a few days ago (first time in months) and my knee was hurting while running. It has never really hurt like that. Of course it has been rainy and that makes my knee hurt sometimes.
When I'm hiking or stuff it doesn't hurt really. Like when I'm in constant motion. The starting and stopping and changing direction really hurts. For example when I'm in an attic climbing around and moving from joist to joist my knee hurts really bad.
The pain I feel is located on the outside and below my left knee. Almost in the same area that the bone marrow was removed. What is my diagnosis? Also when I moved my left leg back and fourth and extend and contract it while laying down or sitting I can feel a pop in my lower back. It doesn't hurt. But this popping doesn't exist when I do it with my right leg

Sounds like ligament damage. I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night.

I rehabbed my knee my self but wouldn't suggest it.

I seriously doubt any of the people on here are doctors . So, you'll most likely have to go to a doctor.

Well that was a mistake, wasn't it?

I'd recommend a healthy regimen of heavy squats to repair the damage.

You likely have a torn meniscus + ligament tear.
Look up meniscus tear and ACL tear and see if those symptoms match the sensations you are feeling.
But, regardless of what you have MRIs and surgery are expensive. On the order of 10k+.

Sounds like Arthritis.jmo
If you're able to run and play basketball there's probably no structural damage.
I've dealt with a bad knee since my 20's.54 now and having a Knee Replacement Monday.
Good luck with your knee.
eta:It could be a partial tear in the meniscus or a Ligament.
Does it ever swell or has it ever?
eta: My "advice" is to quit playing basketball.Unless you're getting paid for it quit punishing your knees and back.

Actually quite a few doctors do post here and I know personally a dozen that read it.
But OP needs to get his credit card limit raised and go get an MRI and see an Orthopedist. I'd say meniscus (whatever the outer one is called) but the bone marrow issue might come in to play.

How about you get some ducking health insurance first

Not a doctor but sounds very much like meniscus trouble.
Now would be a great time to get insured. Be advised that usually a torn meniscus will *not* heal with time because most of it does not get a blood supply. Most likely it's either surgery or you just deal with it.

Marrow below the knee? Why? I thought most was taken from the pelvic bone.
Anyway, enjoy a life if medical bills dumbass
