Being a few years removed from college, I'm finding myself missing the classroom. I've been looking at taking a night class, but LSU's night schedule seems much poorer than I remember. And the tuition for even a few hours at LSU is now very expensive with all the fees and such. BRCC has more reasonable fees and a somewhat decent night program, but the level doesn't advance much beyond the basic classes, many of which I took in undergrad. I've also heard that BRCC classes are a joke, but can't speak from personal knowledge.

Anyone have any suggestions or deal with this issue/desire before? Thanks in advance.

Go to BRCC to get your core out of the way. If you apply yourself at least 80% you should get good grades.

I called it the 13th grade

Anything you want to learn is available for free somewhere on the Internet.

There are some really legit online courses nowadays, but man you have to PAY. Look at Penn State online courses. They're high quality, but very expensive.

I think he's done that. The man is just looking for intellectual stimulation.

LSU's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is what you're looking for, here, I believe.

And then there is Coursera, is all you want to do is watch some video lectures.

Maybe I'm asking too much, but I was really hoping to avoid an online course. I do agree, however, that there are some excellent options out there if I go that route.

Re my "core" classes, that doesn't really apply to me. I'm just looking at taking a few courses on things that peak my interest.

Would you consider online courses?

You could give it a try with Coursera before comiting to a full online degree program.

If you're gonna take classes why not just go to grad school so you can make more money?

I have plenty of grad degrees already. And since this is the OT, I'm in the 1% for my age.

@hangover: I like where your head is at.

That is something you will never hear me say....not even in a joke. I'd pay an extra $20k/semester to not go to school right now

Adult education should not be allowed to continue. In fact, it should be stopped dead in its tracks.
