Spinoff of the turbo Toyota Tocoma breaks down thread

I know a lot of people who still drive their early 2000s Tacoma and still going strong.

Those were some of the best small trucks ever made. Was also the last good small pickup as well.

This is like when people say that Bill Gates still drives a 2000 Camry as if he doesn't own 10 other cars that cost $100k+

I personally know 6 people with nine figure networth and not a single one has owned a vehicle newer than 1988 and each lives in a sub 2200 sqft cottage.

Those things are insanely reliable. The engines were not very powerful, but they were well matched to that small truck.

That's probably my favorite generation Tacoma.

Richest man I ever met still drives his 99 Ford Pickup with airplane landing lights on the tailgate.

He loves that truck, you sure see him when he;s backing up. those things are bright.

I just bought a 23 tacoma before they switched to the Turbo 4 Cyl and I am fully expecting this truck to outlive me.

My brother is a patent attorney in DC. Obviously not as wealthy as Christian Bale but he makes bank. Still drives a 95 stick shift Tacoma when he's not on his Harley.

I've had 3 of them. Awesome little trucks. Don't price one though. Clean, low mileage 1st Gens are going for downright stupid money now.

I remember reading somewhere that David Spade still drives his 1995 Landcruiser that he bought with money he made on Tommy Boy i think it was .. obvs a more high end Toyota than a Camry or Tacoma, but still kinda neat considering it’s almost 30 yrs old.. and he of course has other vehicles, i once saw him getting gas in one of those Grand National GNXs circa 2001, but again that’s an older vehicle .

I agree with the description that it is a good vehicle that doesn’t break.

I have a 2015 with 139.5k miles on it. I’ll probably drive it for as long as it will go.

You don’t speak for everyone.

To OP, this doesn’t deserve its own thread.
